Elizabeth Hegarty
LCSW
I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker specializing in therapy for children, adolescents, and their families, and I also work with young adults navigating developmental and life transitions. I take a warm, collaborative approach, tailoring treatment to each child and family’s unique needs.
My work integrates developmentally informed, relationship-based care with evidence-based strategies. I draw from CBT, incorporate DBT-informed skills to support emotional regulation, and use ACT as a broader framework for meaningful change. I also incorporate play-based therapy to help children express and process their experiences. I am certified in Child-Parent Psychotherapy (CPP), an attachment-based, trauma-informed approach that supports children and caregivers in strengthening their relationship and working through stress, life transitions, and challenges within the family. I work closely with parents, drawing from approaches such as SPACE to strengthen caregiver confidence and support lasting change.
I have experience supporting children and adolescents with anxiety, social challenges, emotional regulation difficulties, ADHD, and autism spectrum disorders. I collaborate with families and schools to support children’s academic and social functioning, including IEPs.
I aim to create a supportive, collaborative space where children, adolescents, and families feel understood and equipped with practical tools for growth.
