Victor Rios
PhD
As a bilingual licensed clinical psychologist, I work with clients through the lifespan, providing evidence-based therapies. I have extensive experience working in a variety of clinical settings with children, teenagers, young adults, and families. I have conducted group therapy, Spanish-speaking therapy, and have a passion for working with LGBTQ+ clients.
My therapeutic approach is grounded in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), and I also incorporate elements of Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) to tailor treatment to each client’s unique needs.
Originally from Brooklyn, I earned my undergraduate degree from New York University and completed my doctoral training at Palo Alto University in California. My clinical experience spans school-based programs, outpatient clinics, and acute care settings. I completed my pre-doctoral internship at Mount Sinai Morningside, where I focused on working with high-risk populations. In addition, I have pursued specialized training in working with neurodivergent clients and with children under five experiencing anxiety.
As a therapist, I aim to create a safe, supportive, and collaborative space where clients feel empowered to grow. My style is active and engaged, and I often incorporate humor into the therapeutic process. I am passionate about continuing my work with youth and families, and I also welcome adult clients, Spanish-speaking individuals, and members of the LGBTQ+ community.
